New Students

Main Line Mysore is proud to offer an in-depth 6-week Intro to Ashtanga you won’t find anywhere else in the area. This course is specifically designed for students who are new to yoga or with limited Ashtanga yoga experience. Even if you have experience with other styles of yoga we highly recommend taking this course. It was created to help all new students find success with the dynamic Mysore-style yoga method.

This course includes 6 weeks of Sunday (4-5:30pm) semi-private workshop with Patty Hicks, MLM Program director and her assistant, Lydia Hurley. During these workshops you’ll learn the standing postures and progress through the seated postures of the Primary Series of Ashtanga yoga. It also includes 5 weeks of unlimited weekly Mysore classes (Sunday excluded) for you to practice your new yoga postures.

Participants will receive a course handbook and we’ll review the Sanskrit names of the postures, Sanskrit count, chants and delve into Patanjali’s Sutras. This will give all new students an excellent foundation and allow you develop your own practice in a safe and healthy way!


6-week Intro to Ashtanga is $250.

Includes course handbook, six 90-minute workshop classes and 5 unlimited weekly mysore classes (Sunday’s excluded)
